Camgian is seeking a Lead Integration & System Test Engineer to own system-level integration assurance and test readiness for complex software and hardware systems to aid the warfighter. This role ensures that components integrate into a reliable, testable, and releasable system prior to formal QA validation, supported by objective test evidence and clear risk assessment. The Lead Integration & System Test Engineer serves as the single integration authority, responsible for readiness decisions, gating releases from Engineering into QA, and reducing late-stage integration risk. In this role, you will also mentor engineers and help mature integration and system test practices across the organization. 


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in systems integration and test of complex mission critical systems for DoW 

  • Demonstrated experience with system-level integration, testing, and test readiness 

  • Experience delivering in mission-critical, high-reliability, or regulated environments 

  • Experience with software development 

  • Experience working in multi-team, multi-component engineering environments 

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and modern CI/CD pipelines 

  • United States Citizenship required 

Desired Skills 

  • Experience leading integration or system test efforts for complex, distributed systems 

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts, interfaces, and dependency management 

  • Experience with modeling & simulation environments that includes scenario development and their use in testing 

  • Experience coordinating test readiness across Engineering, and QA organizations 

  • Experience defining or executing formal Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) or equivalent 

  • Familiarity with DevQA automation outputs, CI/CD pipelines, and test evidence aggregation 

  • Experience working with hardware-in-the-loop or representative system test environments 

  • Experience with containerized systems and deployment validation environments (e.g., Kubernetes) 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for readiness discussions with senior management and stakeholders 

Responsibilities 

  • Own system-level integration assurance and test readiness prior to formal QA validation 

  • Define integration test strategies and develop test plans aligned with system requirements and acceptance criteria 

  • Execute or coordinate integration testing across software components and full system builds 

  • Aggregate and assess integration test evidence from component teams and DevQA pipelines 

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, and integration test results 

  • Identify system integration defects, cross-component issues, and release risks 

  • Develop and execute scenario-based test environments, including simulation-driven workflows 

  • Ensure all models used in testing have clearly defined fidelity, assumptions, and limitations 

  • Document model constraints and their impact on test validity and release readiness 

  • Coordinate defect resolution across engineering teams 

  • Conduct formal Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) 

  • Produce clear, auditable readiness assessments with documented risks, limitations, and supporting evidence 

  • Serve as the integration authority gating releases from Engineering into QA based on readiness and risk 

  • Support QA during formal validation to resolve integration-related issues 

  • Continuously improve integration, system test processes, and readiness criteria 

  • Mentor junior engineers and review test plans and results 

  • Participate in professional development to strengthen technical and leadership skills
