Camgian is seeking an IT Cloud Engineer in our Huntsville, AL office to support the design, implementation, and sustainment of the company’s hybrid cloud ecosystem. This role focuses on building and operating secure AWS environments, including commercial, GovCloud, and classified workloads. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable supporting regulated cloud environments while continuing to grow their technical depth. This position reports to the Director of IT within the Operations organization and works closely with IT, Security, Network, and DevOps teams in a blended on-site/remote work schedule. This role focuses on building and operating secure AWS environments, including commercial, GovCloud, and classified workloads.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a STEM field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience operating cloud infrastructure in AWS.
  • Understanding of secure cloud architectures and the AWS shared responsibility model.
  • Familiarity with AWS networking concepts (VPCs, routing, VPNs, and related services).
  • Experience with AWS security services such as Control Tower, Config, CloudTrail IAM, KMS, and GuardDuty.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Basic scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and operational tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud (US).
  • Familiarity with AWS Secret Region environments.
  • Experience working in CMMC / NIST 800‑171, ITAR (22CFR120-130)/EAR-compliant environments.
  • Exposure to Cloud-based CRM environments such as Salesforce.
  • Exposure to container platforms such as ECS or EKS.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar).
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS (ISC BIND9), and DHCP (ISC KEA).
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate) are a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure AWS cloud environments aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support commercial, AWS GovCloud, and classified cloud workloads.
  • Implement and operate security controls in accordance with CMMC and NIST 800‑171 requirements.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform services in collaboration with DevOps and development teams.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and cost utilization; assist with troubleshooting and remediation.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Work with containerized workloads using AWS services such as ECS and/or EKS (as applicable).
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, Network, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable cloud services.
  • Document architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessments and remediation activities to address security gaps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
